On the GA drawings the bunker lockers are shown as being thinner in dimension so I've butchered this kit to make the handbrake pedestal fit, again it is a compromise and with the cab roof fitted I'll be happy with the loco as it is, after all with a tank engine you can probably get away with a bit more than an open footplate tender engine.

Thanks for that Mark, its been a long drag this one as you probably know and I've successfully bored the pants off everyone here for the last year or so with these painfully slow updates.:avatar:

Thanks Toto glad you like it... the lining transfer set has arrived and tomorrow will see big progress with the motion fitted... so this loco is now not far in being over the line.

Paul, is the cab roof white? Some I’ve seen recently are cream? (I’m asking out of my own interest rather that suggestions “your wrong” if you get me?)

I'm not 100 per cent certain Andy, I know the LMS painting spec for cab roof internals was white and like yourself I've seen preserved examples of LMS / BRM steamers with cream so it could be that some confusion in preservation arose or that the white paint faded into a dirty cream. I can say that the cab roof internals and front spectacle plate on BR Standards was Freight Stock Brown or Bauxite, I shall use this colour scheme on 70010, 75030 and 82003 as they become completed. As for 41244 I'm fairly certain this will be weathered down to a dirty cream colour with soot wipe marks so the white is just a good base to start from.

May have turned a creamish colour from tobacco staining, after all my Grandad didn't believe he had a smoking problem, as he only smoked 80 Woodbines a day.

One side down with one to go and everything works without confliction, it took a bit of doing because the motion bracket as supplied by Scorpio seemed a tad on the small side when it came to aligning the slidebars and I needed to modify the top end in order to clear the driving wheel flange. I have a cunning plan when it comes to fitting the eccentric rod to return crank joint, but that's tomorrows job.

:avatar: now would I ever cast aspersions towards you Gary... :scratchchin:

seriously I've just ordered a pack of new crank bushes from Slaters and some gold on black LMS insignia to complete my NSR New M tank loco. they should be here in a couple of days time.
