I was surprised to see this section and have been tempted to show some of my work. I am a trade qualified signwriter and completed my trade...some many years ago when it was a true art. I still keep my brush skills alive and love to do reproduction signage using old methods, when I first started this journey I used to take photos of my work but then never bothered although I wish I had kept some of those original shots. In more recent times I started signwriting again and began to amass photos of my work to show prospective clients. This photo seems appropriate here as it was the Workshops Rail Museum in Ipswich Queensland all done with a big brush and cans of paint. museum4.jpg

Impressive work Robyn, I'd struggle with the white background, never mind any lettering :whatever: :avatar:

    Cheers, Gary.

Great to hear that you are still screen printing as most of that is now going over to digital which does not last as long as the old methods. I actually went back to TAFE and did my screen printing certificate using RPL (recognised prior learning) I did two modules, four colour process and set up and run a semi auto machine and that afternoon I walked out as a qualified screen printer. Most of my screen printing is really small waterslide decals for the hobby these days compared to printing t shirts and posters etc. But I doubt this will last much longer as people seem happier to buy poor quality inkjet or alps printed decals now, it makes you wonder why.

I knew you must have had some screen printing blood in you. We print high end products which need to be screen printed. Metallic colours for caravans, also outdoor decals for petrol stations.

Kindred spirits Phil, unfortunately I am unable to do the big prints anymore but that happens when you get older. Hopefully we can keep these wonderful trades alive for a bit longer.

    Good morning Robyn,

Do you a list of decals you manufacture and a link to where the best place to purchase ?

    Cheers, Gary.

Hi Gary, I have recently dumped a huge range of decals that we just could not sell, the shops don't want them and modellers seem hell bent on buying rubbish at silly high prices. I could not see any point in wasting my time and money on making quality products that did not move. I have kept some of the Aussie loco decals and the lining that we can use and will print some in very small batches for my own use and sell the remainder on ebay. Let me know what you are after as I may be able to help. You can see some of the decals on my facebook page, just click on the photos in the left hand menu. https://www.facebook.com/Rail-Modeller-Australia-1604681316473127/
    Regards,
