Captured from a passing news chopper covering the bush fires we see the morning service to suburbs beyond the electrified lines at Seven Mile Mulga.

A nice scene on the layout.
It’s actually good to see someone running a 30 bunker first they spent 1/2 their lives running in this direction, and so few run their models bunker first.
Steam train during the fire season:scratchchin: Ha Ha I think the news chopper will be chasing the 30 to see how much of the Seven Mile Mulga is set ablaze as the Passenger passes through. :avatar:

The layout is looking good Bob

Yes, I suspect they started quite a few fires in their day.

Late summer sunshine, great day for train running. 21C clear and calm.
The passengers are getting a few services today as we pretend we are in little land far away.
Sadly the Midland region is still a bit behind in re-lettering its locos, but then if the Southern region can't paint their passenger stock in corporate colours?
    :>)
The decals are here for the locos but the shed painters are out on strike.

    That looks really good.

I like the ballasting and the turf you have used on the layout, so much so that instead of throwing out all the offcuts of the turfing job that I had done, I am going to pinch the idea for my G scale division.

Offer the painters cake instead of biscuits with their tea at smoko and see that will get them back to work.

Looking good Bob, hoping to get a run on Ralph’s as soon as it cools down a bit.
Grass and ballast have really transformed your layout :thumbs:Kim

I knew there was a reason to visit Bunnings Kim :>)
Methinks Perth is good place in the cooler months to run trains outdoors.
    cheers

When is there a reason to not go to Bunnings its the male version of a dress shop.
In fact I once suggested to a lady at Rockmans that the best way to make money would be to put a Rockmans inside Bunnings. :avatar:
Win/Win from my point of view.

Lovely stuff. Just followed this thread from the beginning again. Phenomenal modelling and a very interesting and enjoyable thread to read.

    Great work Sir.

Is the succulent plant real or artificial if real how did you plant it out?

Hi Graeme, the cactus is just plastic like most of the grass I am afraid.

Yeah my grass will be artificial as well but I like the moss idea that I take it is real

Yes the moss is real, not sure how long it will last in this location. But certainly adds to atmosphere while it is there.
Ralph Holden's layout in Adelaide has moss that survives the seasons, goes green in winter and browns off in summer.
    cheers

After a nice frosty start (-6C) the day was so nice I had to run trains.
The Jinty had its first run. very nice indeed.
Have not got a chip into it yet so hooked up the r/c dc controller to the outer loop.
Had a British session in the sunshine.
