I've started my collection of the green books Published by the RCTS - Railway Correspondance and Travel Society Part 9A Tank Engines L1 to N19 arrived today On the to get list is either a N14 or N15 0-6-2T, so I'm ready for that kit On the way are Part 5 Tender Engines J1 to J37 Part 7 Tank Engines A5 to H2 - ready for the C15 build Part 2B Tender Engines B1 to B19 - I have an OO gauge B1 to work on at sometime Part 8B Tank Engines J71 to J94 - I have a J79 & a J94 to build (and maybe a J83 in the future) Some gaps remaining, which I will keep an eye out for as I require them or the price makes it worth my while. Paul
It took me several years to get them all at sensible prices. I think that the most I paid for a single volume was £10
Dear Paul, the Yeadon's Register is also worthwhile in that every locomotive and its service history (where known ) is included, as are numerous photos. I have recently been re reading the two volumes on the Robinson / MM ROD LNER class 04. 2-8-0s,and the photos are really good, Regards, Echidna
Thanks Echidna I will add Yeadon's register to the wish list. Volume 5 (Tender Engines J1 to J37) and Volume 7 (Tank Engines A5 to H2) have now arrived, not in as good a condition as the 9A, well thumbed, and I'd say the Vol 5 previous owner was a J15 fan, not saying it's been around for a while, but it is a 1966 edition, and cost 45/- (£2.25 or 45 bob in real dosh or 3 shilling over a couple of Gunieas). The Volume 7 is a 1964 edition with a list price of 25/- Paul
