Starting a thread for the new layout I'm building, This will be my 4th Scenic layout (some previous efforts can be seen here http://00layout.com ... I will be re-doing the web site sooner than later). A house move meant dismantling my last layout about 10 years ago. My current house doesn't have room for a layout, but I just built a "shed" (it's 40 feet by 80 feet), and constructed a 30 'x 10' loft where the layout is going. I've been digging stuff out of storage and inventorying rolling stock. I have a number of scenic components that I intend to re-use and have been busy building some new pieces. The layout is 00 Gauge - code 100 track (I have a lot from previous layouts, so not changing) going to be set in late 50's early 60's - so I can get away with running a fair number of different loco's. I'm going to make a jump into DCC, but will have one complete loop of DC so I can run older stock. A few pics of WIP will follow
What a space to have at your disposal ( not to mention those minted Jaguars). Great start with the baseboards and track etc. This is going to be an enjoyable thread to follow. We have scslescenes as a sponsor on here so ... keep your eyes open for our competitions. Always loads of scale scenes stuff to be won. Great stuff. Toto
My uncle always drove Jaguars. Automatics as he was lame. They were not in the same condition as yours and they cost him a fortune in repairs. Always breaking down but there again, he was buying from the lower end of the market I think. Lovely cars. Toto
Got inspired watching one of Gormos videos and tried transforming this old Triang R145 - pretty happy with the results.
G`day Steve, Love the Jags....very classy and also a classy conversion on the signal box.....well done.. Gormo
I’m Completed most of the construction and have a full circuit of track laid - ran a few trains last night! Realized how bad that pic was, will upload a different one
Got a couple of display cases installed today - weather was too nice to stay indoors, spent most of the day boating on the lake. supposed to rain tomorrow so may get some more time in on the layout!
Got a considerable amount of track laid over the weekend. Progress but no light at the end of the tunnel, actually no sign of the tunnel yet either!
Didn’t get much done on the layout, spent best part of two days putting up a spiral staircase for easier access to the “loft”. A lot of work!
Been busy with the layout over last couple of weeks - finished a display case for my collection of Hornby Train Packs (plus)
