And here is how the story went...

Exasperated Lady: I sent a parcel from here to my daughter in Macclesfield last week and it still hasn't arrived.

Counter Staff: We'll make enquiries have you got your consignment note with dispatch details ?

Exasperated Lady: Yes here but my daughter has been to the Goods Office on Hurdsfield Road and also called several times at Central station and they don't have it.

Counter Staff: Mary what have you got going to Macclesfield on the 14th?

Parcel Clerk (Mary): Yes is it a Mrs Smith of Gawsworth Lane Macclesfield? It went on the 13.06 via Leek last Wednesday... Fred you signed for it so it says here.

Platform Porter (Fred): Hmm if you says so... I can't remember.

Counter Staff: I'll ring Hibel Road station because Churnet Line trains to Macc terminate at Hibel Road, they don't stop at Central so your parcel won't be there.

Exasperated Lady: So what you saying then?

Counter Staff: Yes Hibel Road have your daughters parcel ... its been there four days waiting for collection... didn't you tell her Hibel Road and not Macclesfield Central as it states on your consignment note ?

Exasperated Lady: How was I supposed to know that then?

Counter Staff: Well it tells you to on your note and it is your responsibility as sender, thing is there is two days warehousing fee for non collection on it now... One shilling and thrupence will have to be paid on it I'm afraid.

Exasperated Lady: That is ridiculous it's daylight robbery, I'm disgusted with you lot... I hope Beeching closes you all down... you're all a waste of time just robbing people like me. Couldn't run a train service if you wanted to.

    The End.

So that's it project complete and with narrative which similar stuff actually happened where the traveling public got things all upside down and inside out and BR got the full force of complaints.

Thank you Sir T... I thought the Beeching reference was quite suitable for this station since the site is now a large car park to a supermarket.:avatar:

Thanks Ian... its been a fun project which I really enjoyed making. This scene will form part of my scenic diorama portfolio of work... so it may even turn up in other scenarios in the future. :scratchchin::thumbup:

Cant add much more that's not already been said. It is top drawer stuff. The story sets the scene very well.

I know we have not quite hit the end of the month but in view of the fact regular updates were required, it's too late for further submissions so there will be one Drury shunter on it's way to yourself Yorkie.

Very well deserved. You really rose to the challenge and blew it out the water.

Congratulations for showing us how it's done.

    Brilliant Mr B!
Reminds me of something from the Paul Shane ‘ “Oh Dr Beeching” down on the Seven Valley. I can just see sue Pollard and Jeffrey Holland sitting in there acting out your sketch.:handshake::giggle::thumbs:

Thank you very much Toto I appreciate having the Drewry shunter loco the prize and no doubt that will become a thread as well. Yes another one horse race and in many ways it would have been nice to have had other entries to work alongside but hey ho ... hopefully this one has brought a smile or two to folk following it and has inspired others in their approach to scenics. Whichever it has been great fun doing and a slightly different angle to the challenge set. Thank you again and I'm looking forward to doing the Drewry kit.

If you look very closely in the Parcels Office tallboy cupboard you will find the evidence there Mr S. It's not all crusty consignment notes you know.:avatar:

You must go with your own original idea on the next competition Mark because that is what will set you as an individual player, as for me I just want to complete the Britannia loco so from that stance this competition is the motive for me doing just that. But thanks for the nice compliment it is much appreciated.

More the comedy. Remember half these actors had all been in Hi-di-hi together, although in this Jeffrey Holland was (I think) the station master?

And written by the same authors as Dads Army.

Drury shunter all wrapped and ready for postage. My aim is to get it out tomorrow going on the basis that I dont have any conference calls eroding away my non existing lunch break.

Enjoy. ..... and remember the build thread. :avatar:
