Wow! thanks guys, nice surprise
Using ABS at the moment Paul, Acetone slurry and steel pins do a half decent job on sticking things together :)

Paul as an after thought is the plumbers glue for ABS or the white PVC?

    Hi Colin

Looks like ABS glue - Floplast Solvent Cement

Give your ABS slurry a try as the cement for the PLA.

MEK should work well for ABS as well as a glue.

Gearbox? Oh... I’m still working on mine. Got it going nicely..... slow start and slow down... if only I could get rid of the backlash!

I’m thinking about a bigger motor and maybe a bearing for the deck in that power collar?

Hi Andy can show you mine if you are interested maybe a new topic though? I took some pics during the development, still some programming to do etc. might be nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of. I have fitted bearings in the base and in the motor housing. I have repaired a Peco TT for the my club but obviously haven't had time to fit/test it. It may yet come back under scrutiny. My own is a prototype due to the size I needed and I also need to sort the electronics as I have used an 8825 driver board. Thing is it needs about 7.5v to allow it to drive the motor and the motor gets hot. I will have to program it to disable the motor when not in use to keep it cool. Mine field at the moment but there are lots of clever guys out there :hammer:

    That sounds quite interesting Col.
I’ve not come across the heat issue, but then I’m using the starter motor, not the bigger one. That said, I’m wondering about going to that.
I wonder if the motor can go off on a time delay? Say give it 2 mins after last movement (as suspect it helps holding the deck when loading/offloading a loco)

I need to work on some kind of “home” to index.
Not sure if to do a rotary switch or just on off.. if I upgraded.
