Good morning to you all. Hope you are all well and busy with your railways. Just to say work has started on the 7.25 railway at Moseley a temporary track has been laid, and partly ballasted, the rest of the ballast will hopefully be finished at the weekend. Eventually work will start on the main site sometime soon. Work will also commence on the16mm railway permanent site. The plot has been marked out so that should be good. Hopefully this virus will clear up and visitors will arrive.
    Regards,
    Gloria.

Good morning one and all, hope everyone is fit and well and busy with their projects. A further update regarding Moseley Toy and Train Museum here in Redruth Cornwall. Work is in progress regarding the 16mm 32 gauge railway the stakes have been put in ready for the ground to be levelled off hopefully that will be towards the end of next week. This will be permanent like Butterley in Derbyshire, but to our own design further updates will follow on that score. Also work has commenced on the permanent 7.25 gauge railway which will run along side their 2ft gauge, also at Moseley Museum. The loco shed is under construction plus the footings are being dug out so track can be laid, more updates later on that project, as we have to rely on the kindness of the volunteers for their help. That is all my news for now.
    Please stay safe,
    Regards,
    Gloria.

Good morning everyone hope you are all fit and well and managing to fulfill your projects at this awkward time. The latest news about Moseley Museum here in Redruth Cornwall. The ground is gradually being cleared and the grass cut ready for the dual guage track to be laid, the level crossing has been built and cemented in place track has been placed roughly to see how much is needed but not ballasted as yet. The 2 volunteers and the owner shifted 40 ton of soil which has been dug out for the station area and 10ft turntable yet to be built. There is 50ft of track laid temporarily which is used for demonstration purposes and been running a loco plus 4 wheeled coach. Visitors have started to arrive from as far afield as Canada which is lovely plus the comments that have been received about our new project. Photos are on Facebook under 7.25 railways.
    Regards to you all,
    Gloria.

Thanks for the update Gloria. A very ambitious project. I'd love to visit that in the flesh. Maybe at some point as it has progressed a bit further.

    Keep us updated.

Good evening everyone hope everybody is fit and well and catching up with their modelling. Just a further update for you all regarding our project here at Moseley Toy and Train Museum in Redruth Cornwall. We have been running our 7.25 gauge railway on a demo track which seems to received a good response from the visitors who visited the museum. This is good encouragement to get the rest built and hopefully weather permitting open by spring 2021 And fully operational.
    Regards to you all.
    Gloria.

Fantastic Gloria, I don't think you will regret going to Moseley. Dependant on covid, we should be down your neck of the woods September-ish next year, I'm hoping that the rally season will get back for next year so thats most of the summer covered, our last rally is normally mid August at Lincoln steam and vintage. We don't normally have any after that, so fingers crossed!

    Cheers, Pete.

Hi Pete, Thank you for your message. My partner went to Moseley yesterday and with the kind help of Steven their digger driver dug the loco inspection pit, today they are digging out the hole for the turntable 10ft in diameter 18 inches deep. Next will be the station and track laid in that area. Hopefully the main track will be laid within 3 weeks which will run one length of the field. We need to get the 7.25 finished so that the work can begin on the 16mm garden railway site. Wish we could get more volunteers to help.
I will keep you posted Pete. You take care.
    Regards
    Gloria

yes I understand your plight Gloria and I guess the pool of willing volunteers down Cornwall way is a limited resource.

Hi York Paul thank you for your reply yes it is. The owners had to get rid of one volunteer for his remarks on a media page. That leaves us short of eligible younger element. Like everything we shall overcome I hope.
    Regards
    Gloria

Best of luck for the future developments and you never know once up and running new volunteers may step forward as its often the case its difficult for people to see the vision during the early development days.

    Hi everyone.
I am pleased to announce that part of our new track installation has been laid the demo track is being disconnected tomorrow trains will be running with passengers on our new system roughly 400ft. It won't be officially opened until Spring 2021 once completed. Tomorrow we are concentrating on building the station area. Photos will be posted ASAP of what has been achieved so far with 6 people who have very kindly given up their time to help us.
    More updates to follow.
    Regards to you all.

Good evening everyone, hope you are all keeping well and busy on your railways. As mentioned yesterday on the forum. Today I had the first run out on our newly laid 7.25 railway with passengers, the feedback was excellent so all worthwhile. So now looking forward to the next phase which hopefully will start ASAP I will post further updates as work progresses.
    Regards
    Gloria

Good morning Pete, I hope so, its like everything, weather dependent. We have another open day tomorrow Sunday hopefully be running again. The railway won't officially be opened until Spring 2021 I am trying to find someone who would be kind enough to open it when completed. Making a few enquiries see what turns up. Work has started yesterday on preparing the ground for our 16 miller's garden railway there again weather permitting. The owners of Moseley are very impressed with the work done so far. The trouble is we are short of bodies to help plus materials. Just have to be patient Pete.
You and your wife please take care speak soon,
My kindest and best regards to you both
    Gloria

Good morning to you all hope you are all keeping well. A further update to say we have had 3 successful weekends with our portable railway on show at Moseley Toy and Train Museum in Redruth Cornwall. This will be our last displays for this year. Hopefully next year will be better once Covid has disappeared. Now work can begin on finishing off our 16mm garden railway which is on a permanent site at Moseley. Also work can also start on the 7.25 railway at the same venue all this is weather permitting and volunteers. Further updates to follow.
    Regards to you all,
    Gloria
