    G`day Members of Platform 1,
I read a recent post where it was stated that Model Rail Scotland will be cancelled for 2021, probably like so many other model rail exhibitions around the World.
So how about we have our own exhibition online.?
What I`m proposing is that any member who wishes to participate, uploads a video into this thread, which in time will build up enough material for our own exhibition.
I would suggest we limit videos to no more than about three minutes per member, as we don`t want epic videos hogging the viewing time.
So videos up to 3 minutes long and don`t worry about the quality or professionalism of your video and don`t worry about layout levels of completion. If you are not able to run any trains, just give us an overview of what you are planning to do or what you are working on.
Just put the videos up here because I`m sure we will all find them interesting and enjoyable.
I will kick it off with a short one.

I'd love to take part. I'll break out my micro layout and make a quick video of some freight cars being switched about. :)

Really enjoyed your video Gormo. :)

Well worth viewing, I've seen it in the flesh so to speak, and it is brilliant!

    Cheers, Pete.

I would be interested in getting involved, my two layouts Wheeldon Mill and Thaxham I think would be ok I think, neither are finished but do work. I also have my little diorama now called Kings Head Yard that is going to be fitted with a short fiddle plank would probably be a better bet as it is more suitable to a short video.

    Cheers, Pete.

That sounds good Pete......thanks for coming in.
The thing to remember, and this applies to everybody, is the fact that nobody probably will have a completed layout to show.
Hands up all those who have a complete layout......completely done and dusted..????...Yeah I thought so....hardly anybody.:scratchchin:
Doesn`t matter......who cares?.....an incomplete layout, at whatever stage of completion, is possibly more interesting than a complete layout because you can start to imagine the possibilities.
So I think any layout at any stage of development put up into our virtual exhibition, will be interesting to view and it all helps to keep us going through this pandemic.
So come on fellas.....get those cameras out.....don`t hold back.....don`t be shy or intimidated about showing your layout progress.....we`re all here to encourage you and each other.....that`s what it`s all about......that`s the core philosophy of this forum.
We don`t have to go off to a real exhibition.....we can create our own.....come on then....off we go....who`s next.????
    :cheers::tophat:Gormo

    Great idea Gormo.

I’ll post up a video of my layout later in the month, it’s in storage at the moment..... I’m in the middle of creating a new home for the layout.
