    Hi all:hismiley:
Thank you for the welcome. Found the forum by accident.
I am live in sunny Edinburgh, Scotland.
My escapism/de-stressor.... is model trains O and and OO gauge. Mainly been working on sorting out my shed this year, so that I have somewhere to run my railway - also just finished working on a Lima O gauge 4F..it now looks very unwashed and in need of maintenance.

G`day Tom and welcome to Platform 1 MRC,
Sunny Edinburgh is a nice place to be.......it seems to be a little breeding ground for railway modellers......:scratchchin:
You will find that you have one or two neighbors here on the forum.

    Hi Tom

Well you got further than me with the Lima 4F, apart from being dusty (and that is fixed with a flick of a brush), mine moves. I do have a motor upgrade for it that I've put away somewhere safe :whatever:. Look forward to seeing pics of the finished model. I have gone down the Connoisseur Models 4F route, but have spotted a snow plough photo, which may get made for the Lima 4f, and just rescale the bits to suit the Lima 4f's actual size.

    Hi Paul
I ended up just adding some coal, buffers cab handrail and making it as filthy as possible. My Lima 4f is battery operated and will be used for the weed killing train. A snow plow sounds good as well...maybe I could add if the line goes into the great out door's.

Excellent stuff Tom. It looks nicely grubbed up. I too started a Connoussieur models 4f which has not been completed yet ( same as Paul_l and Yorkpaul ) part of a three way build.

    Very popular locos I think.

Great to see you posting up. ..... enjoy good Sir.

    Hi Kimbo
Sorry a bit slow replying...work is a bit busy just now.
The shed is going well, so far I have laid a new floor, lined the walls with plywood and used bubble pack as insulation, built a workbench/table and added solar powered lighting.
Started adding shelfing and a electrical supply for the railway. So not much railway stuff happening at the moment. The plan is to bridge over to a second shed so that i can create a good run. I will have a loop of vintage o gauge and modern oo gauge just to get my collection running.
And in the future hopefully build scenic module's that I can slot in.

Good start Tom. It’s amazing how much time and effort you need to put in to get the man cave ship shape ready for modelling adventures, but it will be well worth it. Keep us up dated as you progress
