Nice one, another item on the to do list, I have KnK Zing, and need to start learning how to create the artwork for these, it will also be useful for the cnc, same basic idea just different end processing.

Back on page 1 of this thread (September 2017) I showed an NER Implement wagon that I had cut with the silhouette cutter. Well it's another one past the finish line. I have another tractor as a load for it but here it is after a light weathering.

I should note that applying the transfers was an absolute pain until I discovered what I was doing wrong.

I like to use methfix transfers where ever possible because I find the ability to fine tune the placement (as long as you keep them moist) a great help. In this instance I was using the HMRS sheet for LNER wagons. Now I normally use Johnsons Klear as my gloss coat to apply the transfers to but I had some Vallejo gloss varnish to hand so I used that instead. It turned out to be a big mistake. As soon as I applied the transfers they stuck firmly to the gloss varnish in what ever position they landed in and couldn't be adjusted without destroying them. After a couple of attempts and some head scratching I decided to coat the other side in Klear to see if that made any difference (before considering buying in new transfers). Lo and behold they worked perfectly as they always had.

Some excellent work and great inspiration. You may have solved a problem ive been thinking about for some time. Id love to build some multiple units which are not available as kits and have been concerned with cutting windows accuratly and consistently. I wonder if the silhouette cutter could be a solution. It may be easy to get past the wife too as im sure it would be usefull in her card making hobby.

Of course getting the Johnstones clear can be more of a challenge

It can but not long after it went off the market I chanced to go into a little local hardware shop who had half a dozen bottles so I bought all of them. They will see me out I hope...

    Hi Paul,

I should think so, they originated in the crafting world before enterprising modellers got their hands on them.
