Yes, I agree Andy .... the warship just missed out really. I dont like judging as it is tough but as I said, the defining results really came down to the regularity of posting. I'd say that AJS is a red submitted a very worthy entry and I'm sure that with that calibre of work will be a regular contender for other competitions going forward if entered. Likewise to the others, all very good entries. Well done and thanks for entering and making it such an interesting competition.

For those who missed out , dont be to disappointed as there will be other opportunities I can assure you.

Anybody who has been placed in this competition will be excluded from entering the next in order to try and ensure others get a chance as well. They are welcome to participate but wont be considered for a prize position.

Kimbo, I will be coming you shortly with regards to your choice of loco kits. I am giving a choice as I'd rather see you get something that may be of appeal for your own or joint projects.

Can all prize winners PM me with their full postal addresses. I will start to get the prizes packaged up and ready for posting the eatly part of this week coming. ( include surnames as well, my memory is shocking )

    Many thanks

    Toto

    Thanks Andy.

As the Warship turned out quite well, I’m going to give another one of my old locos the same treatment as I have leftover paint and detailing items. The next victim is an old Lima Deltic, again in BR blue that I intend to back date to the BR transition period.

    Best regards

    Andrew

Excellent news Andrew and I for one shall look forward to following and supporting your work projects as always. I thought the Warship upgrade certainly showed the way to what could be achieved as a realistic outcome. It was a project very well done.:tophat:

    Thanks Toto.

I’ll definitely enter another competition in the future. Really enjoyed taking part in this recent one and feel happy to have even been in consideration given the high calibre of modelling from the eventual winners.

Well done everyone that entered the comp, I don't know how Toto sorted the winners, (you're all winners that entered and completed your entries in my opinion!) awesome workmanship!!

    Cheers, Pete.

    Hi Kimbo

I have just checked the available ACE kits which I can put up for grabs. These are all brand new kits as purchased by myself direct from ACE.

    They are as follows.

    1. LNER V1 tank engine
    2. LNER C12 class tank engine
    3. LNER C14 class tank engine
    4. LNER K3 tender engine.

If you can let me know which one you'd prefer, I'll get it in the post.

ACE are at the budget end of the loco kit spectrum but seeing the job you made of the Q1, I'm confident that in you capable hands ...... yet another masterpiece shall emerge.

    Give me a shout

    Toto

    Cheers Toto.

I would like to build the C12 kit please as this was one of the first type introduced by Ivatt and had part of its working life as a Southern suburban passenger train.
I know a young chap that will be pleased to see me building another loco that ran “Down South”

thanks again for a great competition and prize.

Congratulations to all the worthy winners.:tophat::tophat:

I certainly wouldn't have liked to have been in Toto's shoes doing the judging, I wouldn't have known where to begin with all the entrants starting from different stages and having differing goals to achieve as opposed to a set of parameters laid down before hand.

Thanks for giving me a much needed nudge to get on with this particular shelf queen.

    OK ..... what a f~£44!n day.

For kimbo as he gets special priviliges coming in on first place ...... some photos .....

which comes complete with Mashima motor, slaters wheels and buffers no less .....

and all done up in my SAS theme wrapping ...... :avatar:

Now for the others ..... Yorkie and Andy ....... you guys are mere mortals and fall foul of my stingy photo shoot .....

No colour piccies for you guys. :avatar::avatar::avatar:

All three now wrapped and ready to go in the post.

I hope to get the time to get them moving tomorrow.

Its been a busy couple of weeks. I officially finished up with my employer at the end of the month ( September ) so have been busy running around setting up up my own Limited Company as I am going it for myself now. I have two Clients aboard already and multiple projects starting off between them. things are looking good but instead of monday to friday 7.30 to 18.00 hours ( roughly ) its 7 days a week 24 / 7 as required. No rest for the wicked.

however ..... between tomorrow and Satuday for the post Office run. I'll let you good gentlemen know when they are gone to let you keep an eye on the post. As always, I'd appreciate a post or a pm when they arrive just to put my mind at ease.

many thanks for you patience in waiting. Much appreciated and once again ...... a big well done ....... now ..... the next competition  I'm working on it but as an appetiser, its going to be a Scalescenes themed one so rake out your scalpels and cutting mats. ..... more soon.

    cheers

The Connoisseur Models Milk Van has just been delivered by Postie and all is well so thank you Toto and what a cracking looking kit this is... not opened it yet cos if I do I'll be so tempted to build it. Anyway as many folk here know I also have an NSR Class New M 0-4-4 tank engine to complete (which will be the next shelf queen to finish) and this lovely Midland Railway van along with an NSR six wheeler milk van I have and some other NSR carriages I'm having cut will form part of an ongoing thread to make a 1920's / 1930's period train for the new Leek station diorama. A new thread called NSR station and trains will be started soon once building gets underway.
