The 2020 Scalescenes Kit Bash Competition

You may have read in the Footbridge Newsletter or on Facebook that a new competition was coming soon, and here it is....

In conjunction with Scalescenes, I’m happy to announce the latest competition for N, HO and OO scale modellers !

A great competition with a great prize from Scalescenes, just in time for Christmas !!

This competition is based on the Scalescenes TO24a Industrial A – Warehouse. Both N gauge and OO. If you wish to model in HO scale, print your pages at 87% !

This Competition is not based on the ordinary build, but a ‘kit bash’ of the model !

The TO24a kit offers a variety of components and textures (platform, stonework, brickwork, windows, large sliding doors, tile roof, awning etc), so it is up to you to produce a bespoke model !

There will only be one prize, the prize for 1st Place !

The prize for this competition is a voucher from Scalescenes valued at £30.00 !

Remember, if you model N or OO gauge, Scalescenes has you covered. If you model HO, it's only a matter of setting your printer to 87% !


THE RULES....

· No O gauge entries, but O gauge modellers & 'rubber gaugers' can enter with one of the chosen scales noted above. The Competition is open to everyone !

· 75% of components from the kit must be used.

· You can print this kit multiple times to allow the build of a larger model.

· Each entry must have a start to finish thread. Please do this by starting your own thread which must clearly state your username and "Scalescenes Kit Bash Competition Entry". Without this, the entry is null and void.

· All selected items, TO24a and five of the Scratch Builder selection, must be shown (photo) before commencement of kit bash.

· If you wish to use the Scalescenes ‘Interior Details’, that will be included as ‘one of the five’ extras from the Scratch Builders Yard selection.

· To keep costs down, you can not use the Scalescenes ‘TXA Complete Scratchbuilders Yard Pack’. If you do already own this pack, I will allow the use, but the rules are the same, you can only select five from this and they must be shown prior to commencement.

· The use of extra detail items as follows : barrels, drums, ladders, crates and pallets only.

· Only two figures can be used and one of the following vehicles can be used : bicycle, car, truck, railway wagon (grounded or rolling). Choose wisely !

· Scenery such as grass and weeds can be used.

· Additional weathering can be applied.

· A length of railway track can also be used. This can be laid or stripped down to components, ie sleepers, rails, chairs.

· Completion closes midnight, 13th December 2020.

Yes, Toto is correct, the maximum is five from the Scratch Builders Yard. You can use 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 individual sheets ! It gives each entrant a chance to diversify the model to their own taste and design.
