This is a 3D print of the ROCKET locomotive. It is approximately O scale and consists of approx. 50 printed parts. The track is also printed but the grey base is a piece of timber. It has been painted with spray and hand painted enamels. It took me about a week to print, assemble and paint. It does move but is intended to only be a static display model. I have other train related 3D prints if anyone is interested in seeing them.
Great work Chris, looks amazing. Any plans to print and build a set of carriages to go with it? Yes I would love to see your other work Kim
No ... I have many other projects on the go, maybe in the future. The largest being the construction of a DJH NSW AD60 Garratt locomotive kit as well as other 3D printing. I may post pictures of the Garratt as I build it ... currently have the 2 chassis build and about to start on the motion.
When you're 'signed in', check the top right of your screen, "INBOX", and you should see a red marker indicating a received 'private message'. Click on it to open and read, you can reply to or send your own messages from there. Keith.
For some reason, it doesn’t send you an email like posts do.. can be a bit frustrating if your not logged on for a day or two?
Here is a pic of my collection of Roackets Back is ithe Hornby 3.5 inch gauge live steam (still in good Condition) middle is a 3D print to 0 gauge for a proof of concept to use drawings to make a live steamer Front the new hornby 00 gauge (a beautifully detailed model) Be seeing you Bob
I get the PM message as an email to my iphone Andy as well as in the form of a PM to my iMac, though not exactly sure how it does that as it's not something I'm aware of having set up to make it do that. Maybe Dundee Paul can throw some light on it? Having said that, I've no idea how to reply direct from my phone, I have to log into the forum on the Mac to do that, I know I could log in on my phone but I can't work on a phone screen 'cos it's too small! Keith.
Wow - an impressive model As for the PM's - look at the top of the page and you'll see Just click on the Inbox icon and it will take you to the Conversations page (Private Messages's). As for Apples great in a Pie, crumble, eaten straight from the bag or made into Cider, anything else is just an abomination and should be got rid of. Paul
Me too! As a 'Non-techie', I find that iMac/iPad/iPhone work well together which is more than I could ever sort out when Wife and I had analogue phones and Windoze PC's in the past. I'm aware that some IT folks don't like Apple stuff (don't know why) and I understand they can be difficult to get into to update etc, they're expensive too, but I find they are well made and last. Keith.
Anyway..???? Speaking of Chris`s locomotives......l have seen pics of some of his other projects and they look terrific. The big manufacturers want to watch their backs in the future, with people now gradually being able to print their own products at home. Gormo
printings not so much the issue, you still have to design it. and if you want it To run you still need a working chassis. not going to be just yet
