At 160ft long, we may need a bus to go from one end to the other, and if several mini bars are installed we can have a pub crawl

    Back on track

Just away to box these up and hopefully post them tomorrow - provided the post office is open and I don't get arrested for breaking lock down  :avatar:

Yup, looks like were in Tier 4+, all visiting rights removed and hard labour - well I ain't calling going out for shopping or taking the dog for walks a desirable selection.

Here here. Thank you so much for turning my creations in to a reality. Hopefully they can get Yorkie on the move again with this project.

I’m guessing chimney pots and benches will by my next task.

Yes how did you guess... those big stone chimney caps with an angled roof shape the same as at Alton Towers station... beware there were two sizes at Leek. Oh yes we need benches too and a few more signs as well. :tophat::thumbup:

First off a very big thank you goes out to Dundee and Mr S for all their hard effort and support and naturally a big thank you to Dundee Paul for getting to the Post Office in such adverse conditions... just send me the bill pls .

So here we are with a loose test fit of window and doorways to the front of the waiting shelter, I think you'll agree with me they look pretty damn good and certainly capture the spirit of the original station architecture. The spec being interpreted from original plans, the print file design being undertaken in Notts and the manufacture being done in Dundee... and all these three sectors work come together with a very exacting fit in the main... only a couple of places where I'd overcut the body shell but that will be covered by the scribed overlays. The spacer pieces at the bottom of the doors will be cut off once doors a permanently secured in position.

And the side view shot with the model in the railway room upstairs... poor light conditions today so sorry about that. The reason the doors appear suspended on the wall is because the platform depth will cover this but the ground surface behind the shelter is lower and so will be seen in the model landscape. The land behind the shelter was railway owned but formed the garden and rear entrance approach to the NSR owned Churnet Valley Hotel, now long since gone too, that land now forms part of the supermarket car park.

Here's a view of the shelter on the left showing the entrance door to the General Waiting Room, behind is the A52 road bridge with the gasometer retort of the old Leek Town Gas Works, the main station building is on the right, this part of the model will be built once the shelter side is complete.

You mean the front coping slabs ? They were real mothers bout four feet square and a good five inches thick... must have given a few workmen hernias in their time.

Well, the whole platform actually, not just the coping stones.

The platform facing stones would be made from scribed Plasticard sculpted with a texture look same as the water tank and I though the coping stones could be done in 1.5mm shaped Plasticard. Right now I'm just working out the laminations for the front of the waiting shelter... it was so icy up here this morning I took the day off from working in a cold empty unheated property with no internal doors fitted as such.

So marking out to cut the laminate front from thin Plasticard, a light helps to locate marking points to make cutouts for the doors and windows.

Or you come up with the correct cross section a few slab long but cabable of being connected together Lego style to make any length (Andy your job I think), I'll 3D print the master, and we'll work out how to make a silicon master mould for you (Yorkie) to make multiple plaster casts which can be joined to make up the platforms, with brick embossed plasticard for the platform walls and your preferred topping for the platform surfaces.

I was purely asking out of interest, not for making more work!:avatar:

but that’s not a bad suggestion in some respects.
