    We all go to considerable trouble laying good track in this hobby. It may interest you to see the following prototype track conditions.

    How these trains don't derail amazes me.

    Chris thank you for the videos. It amazes me how the locomotives or wagons don't derail.

    I remember seeing a picture taken at Rotherham steel sidings where one rail was significantly higher than the other. You don't need a Pacer for a rough ride

    There are a lot more of these bad track videos on YouTube but these pretty much say it all. However, there are some old British Rail permanent way videos online which show the attention to detail they used to take in keeping the main lines well maintained and safe (all done by hand).

    I think I will post them.
