As I'm a subscriber to Larry Puckett : The DCC Guy, I found this great video on the functionality of the NCE Cab06, made for those people who don't like to read the instructions... Cheers, Gary.
Interesting video, I've got one of the Cab06 controllers but not used it yet, I will have to watch the video a few more times so as to get a handle on how it all works. Thanks for posting it! Cheers, Pete.
Hi Gary I had tried most of these (didn't read the manual, but did read the cheat sheet ). Pete - yard mode looks attractive for shunting (especially if you're used to operating with a H&M controller like the Duette), however ther is no center off notch, so you do need to make sure you are set to off. Also with the Cab06p - potentiometer version, you need to set the controller to off before you change loco's (may even have to set it to off before you can get control) This is because if you change loco's then the speed would be set at the current position of the Potentiometer, which may be different from the current loco value. The Cab06d - digital encoder - so position of the dial makes no difference, you either increase or decrease the current value, so the reset to zero restriction doesn't apply. One of the main advantages of these throttles is the restriction of ability, you can hand the throttle over to someone, and they can't reprogram every loco by mistake, like can be done with a Hammer Head controller like the Pro Cab and Power Cab's.
