G'day Lankeyman, Welcome aboard from Sydney. Looking forward to reading about your modelling adventures, what you have on teh go and what's on the modelling bench ! Enjoy your stay. Cheers, Gary.
Hi, and thank you for your very warm welcome, I'm sure I will enjoy being a member of this forum, it all looks really friendly and you guys certainly can model excellent stuff. As for me, although I was born in the Black Country and moved to the Dorset coast 30 years ago, I am really interested in the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in BR steam/diesel transition era and am planning to build a model loosely based on Horwich Railway Station, I have built the baseboards (3 off 4x2) however that has been shelved for a while due to recent circumstances - so I've now started a small layout/diorama using a Scalemodelscenery BB017 baseboard which fits inside a Reallyuseful 77L Christmas Tree box. I have also built 2 80cm boards (one each end) for cassette fiddle yards, so the overall length is about 2.7m. I have also built a pelmet for the main board. Unfortunately things have now come to a standstill as I have ordered some Peco code 75 small radius points from my local model shop and am now awaiting delivery. This has been the situation for about a month, so I will have to start modelling some buildings and the platform in the meantime. Ironically I'm returning to my roots as the layout is going to be called Vauxhall & Duddeston, which is a station just north of Birmingham New Street on the old Grand Junction Railway. It yakes the name but that will be just about it as the baseboard is only 110cm x 25cm. That's as far as it goes at the moment, I will get round to posting some pictures of the baseboards if anyone is interested Cheers Steve
Sounds a really interesting project, I look forward to seeing a build thread - you don't get off that easily Paul
and a warm Lankeyman to the forum, glad you joined us and hope you enjoy being here. cheers York Paul
Hi Lankeyman, I do like small layouts and this project of yours does sound interesting. Looking forward to reading your layout thread. Cheers, Gary.
Welcome Lankyman, great to have you on board mate! Your modelling sounds excellent, it seems to me that you're experiencing the side effect of covid, no ones got stock syndrome Still, at least you can get on with the infrastructure on your layout. Lots of photos, updates etc welcomed! Cheers, Pete.
