Well done on your picture of the week. A worthy choice. ..... and one of my favourite loco classes.

Been busy beavering away on bit and pieces around the layout.
Looking for some tips on signals and positions on my layout.
This is something I have never been able to get my head around.
    Here is my track plan-
    Track plan.png
The Red block is the station.
Black line is the main line.
    Green is the Bay platform.
Blue is goods avoidance line and goods reception/dispatch.
    Yellow is the branch line.
    Purple is the goods yard.
Distance between the yellow branch & blue avoidance line is about 2 foot.
I would expect a Token system would be used.
I plan to use LMS style semiphore signals.

    Any help appreciated?

Been busy doing bits n pieces around the layout, not much to show for my efforts so no photographs.
    Points wired up and operational.
    Point control panel built.
    A bit more ballasting done.
    Bridge work in progress.

I know I am a little late onto this...,

I noticed where the goods yard meets the loop line that there is not enough sufficient room to shunt without running back on to the main. Not knowing exactly what you have in mind for buildings and scenery, I personally think pushing the goods entry point back to the right will allow for more maneuvering of wagons without the need to enter the main line...

    Modified track plan...

    Cheers, Gary.

Certainly something to think about, I haven't started scenery on this part yet so still have time to tweak it. Cheers for the input.

I had 2 Peco electrofrog 3 way points on the original build of Setforth Junction. Was quite fiddly lining up the PM 1 motors but managed it in the end. One did however sometimes need a 2nd or 3rd attempt at switching the one in the fiddle yard as 2 locos sometimes set off! In the rebuild I've rationalized some of the track work and negated the need for one, and hopefully will be able to negate the need for the other.

The class 29 has been running today while I was coming up with a cunning plan for the goods yard.

Or flip the goods yard over to the left (same end as the branch line) and have a head shunt to the right off the loop line?

Been working on the approach to the station and second goods yard entrance.
This will allow shunting without infringing the main line.
Here is a mock up of the points on the approach.
The two main lines go into the station, the third line enters the Engine shed nearest the camera and into the goods yard reception/departure lines at the far end.

Looks to be a narrow baseboard you have there. Would it be about 12" wide ?
Most of my layouts are only 12" wide and it is amazing what you can do with a narrow shelf layout !

    Cheers, Gary.

The board with track on it is 9 inches wide, when I add the scenery it will be 2 foot wide.

Starting on the new track for the South junction which allows access to the goods yard and engine shed.
This will also allow for shunting the yard.
