I'm intending shortly making the platforms for my 0 gauge layout using 3mm ply (actually 3.6mm according to the Wickes website!). The reason for using ply is that due to the dampness issue in my garage, there's no point in using either card or foam board as it will deteriorate quickly, though I will have to seal the finished ply with either paint and/or varnish once built. So, can anyone tell me what the finished height of the platform above the baseboard should be please???
    Keith.

You need the height above the rail head which is about 3ft or 21mm in O.

Depends whether you lay the track straight on the board or on cork for instance. That’s why you measure from the rail head.
