Many thanks for the welcome messages everyone. I’m getting back into model railways after a break of about 60 years. Technology has changed dramatically over that time. The internet is a great resource of information and YouTube clips are a brilliant source of learning material (especially Gormo’s). While I work on a small DC layout modelled on British steam of the 1950s & 60s (which was the era in which I grew up) I have a shelf layout which I’m using as a test bed for scenery and buildings. I’m looking forward to bringing the layout to life by incorporating Arduino microprocessors into the layout to control light and sounds.
