Here at Platform 1 it is our policy to post up a " Welcome post " every time a new member joins the forum. This has a dual purpose. 1st. We naturally wish to welcome new members to the forum and thank them for joining us. Any member can welcome new members not just Moderators or well known established members. I actively encourage all to do this. It all helps in creating a warm and welcome environment and helps the new member settle in and offer a chance to initiate their first post .... breaking the ice. 2nd. This one is beneficial to the new member themselves as they are asked to post up in response to their account being recognised and being made " live ". This is not ( contrary to popular belief ) to get post numbers up, rather to let admin see that their account is actually functional and that they have a working username and password. If there are any issues, we can act quicker if we become aware of it as the member is trying to register as opposed to 6 months down the line when they eventually decide to post. In any case, we will always endeavour to resolve any logging in issues and get folks " live " as it were. If you do wait for months after registering and come across an issue getting in ...... please bear with us as you attempt to contact us to explain the issue. We will do our utmost to get to you asap. However, consider this. On joining, of you cant muster the effort to post a single response in your created welcome thread, dont expect the admin to drop their drawers in six months time. We are all part time volunteers who go the extra mile to provide this facility ...... free of charge. I look forward to welcoming many more new members to our forum as the more we have , the more enriched the forum will hopefully become. I hope everybody enjoys there stay with Platform 1 Cheers Toto
Hello and thank you for your welcome note. I have been modelling since the early 1970's, firstly in 4mm scale and now in 7mm scale, both standard and narrow gauge. I have attached a photo of a small 7mm scale narrow gauge exxhibition layout I built a while ago.
Apologies to all. I was having a bit of trouble negotiating this site so I put it on the back burner. I have now managed to post a pic of my latest minimum space O gauge "Engine shed" layout. I have not settled on a name for it yet, but as it is almost complete I will have to get my thinking cap on. This little layout provides a home for my sound fitted RTR locos.
Oh, my above wasn’t pointed at yourself.. it was more that the mods take time and effort to say hello to each member yet it seems a lot of effort for the new joiner to reply sadly.. andy
Well I have just joined the group and trying to find my way around. I model in OO gauge and use Dcc++ex for my comand station.
