A pair of shed code plates laser cut by Intentio designs painted up today, these will be mounted on the legs that support thelayout.

 

More work on Westbourne Bridge today, Water cranes and delivering track components to Bristol.

 

LED light bars installed today, Still awaiting the junction boxes so they can be wired in, tomorrow hopefully. I’ve mounted the shed code plates on either side of the legs supports and to ease transportation I’ve cut out some hand holes and dressed them

with some Brit style grab hole surrounds very apt for Canton. Lastly I’ve made up the two telegraph poles using parts from Duncan’s models.

 

More weathering on the Greenwood Turntable today, still more to do around the ring rails but it’s getting there.

 

Not the best picture but the junction boxes have arrived and the lights are working. I will add 6” strips of 6mm ply across the tops backed with foil to help concentrate the light downwards and to alleviate the glow above the layout, this will also help to support the fiddle yard area whilst transporting the layout and protect the lighting underneath.
The layout is packed away again now until the laser cut pits arrive and I’ll get it out in the garden and take some pictures in the dark to see how affective the strip lights are.
I’ve also ordered 6m of warm white LED strip lights that will go on the underside of the foil backed ply.

Canton now illuminated. These pictures are taken out doors in the dark with a fast shutter speed.
Even the darkest exhibition venue won’t stop Canton from being bathed in light.

 

New buffers fitted, I much prefer the parallel buffers on a king, looks more purposeful

 

Working in 4mm again, mortar and weathering next, I’m making up and finishing off a few buildings for a customers layout.

Footbridge underway on Canton

 

Track work now complete using a mixture of C&L flexi and individually laid using exactoscale and C&L chairs. track feeds next then sanding

 

I’ve used Mekpac, A good dose applied with a paint brush does the trick, I also use super glue on the first few just to get everything held in place securely.
I do lay mine in place on the layout.

 

A little more done on the footbridge and a coat of Matt black
