I though I would post it here first the pictures of the model lamps… we have finally printed them (version 1B not V2 as documented earlier) and they have come out quite fine.

as yet, I have not been in a position to trail fit the LED, and I’m really doubtful about getting wires through the middle - so we may have to adjust to Version 2 or buy some pre made lamps and modify..
Anyway, if they end up none working, they will still look the part.

before removal of the supper scaffold. Some is support and some are literally feeds to start another part of the model.

    And all the scaffold removed..

And from below.. the three dots in the middle are actually a reflection of the room lights in some water that is still inside. more soon

... and from printing the station lighting we move to this... probably a first in scratch building but a very necessary item for the weary traveler. Please no jokes about disinfectant or such.

The best I could do Andrew is make them look old and somewhat unappealing, however my colleague on this project Mr S assures me he cannot print smell and doesn't want to put audiences and passengers off by having unclean loos. Seriously I'll post up pictures of the internal fitting out of the waiting room in a day or two's time.:avatar::thumbs:

I was hoping to take a few pictures of the internals today but not long after I'd set up outside the heavens opened and the photos came to an abrupt halt... I'll try again in a few days time when the light is good. So I just managed a couple of shots, the overhead view of the model which measures 400mm x 218mm ... so its quite big and starting to weigh heavy.

The lighting progresses, but despite drawing with ample space to fit the LED it doesn’t fit..
    LED is 5.5mm
Internal gap on drawing is 5.75mm
    Printed model…. 5.17mm

So as you can see, the rim of the LED is not inside the shade as it should be. 0CC6230E-085B-467A-95CB-DF0998FC1FC7.jpeg
And so we look to a scaled up V2…
    357C0742-0DAE-482B-837C-3D6209D7B889.jpeg
however we appear to have now gone too big on the shade with a scale 2ft 1inch. Which is too big. So V3 is on the cards once the internal has been checked post cure with a smaller shade.

    Hi Andy

You can get 3mm LED's from Amazon. £4.59 for 100 of the wee fellas. Dimentions below in case that helps

    upload_2021-11-23_15-36-55.png

I'd be tempted to paint the bottom lip of the LED black - it'll look like a soot covered rim - and see what it looks like.

It’s 5mm we need for the actual glass dome representation. (Which scales out at 9-10 inch approx) 3mm would be too small, although that’s a great buy if warm white ?
V3 a and b have been printed this AM. Will check when home later.

You could turn the flange down in a dremel it's only 0.3 on the radius.

There are two flats sides to it that it locates against..

See what the new prints turn out.. I’ve kept the body big on one and reduced the shade size.
