    Simply amazing and a well deserved Pick of the Week, although I may have submit a report for the untidy nature of his work area with loose tools overhanging the sides and the vehicle being in motion.

    :thumbs: :thumbup: :tophat::cheers:

    I am not sure how I missed the weathered shots having seen the painting of the sign, but I have to say that it looks superb Kim.

    I came across this thread - and Platform 1 - while googling for information or pictures of a Ransome and Rapier crane. Why was i doing that....
    Well, a couple of years ago, there was a lovely layout in Railway Modeller, Cheltenham St James. In the background of a few of the photos was an interesting looking mobile crane that I had never seen before. I was put in touch with the owner by the RM office, and he told me he thought it was a 'Classic Commercials' kit, a range now long gone. I thought that was the end of it, until this October, when on Ebay up popped what seemed to be the same model - in the USA! I won the auction, and the model arrived, but the worse for wear IMG_20211122_130821_459.jpg

    Ha, pressed the button too soon! ......Largely complete, but with the jib (broken) being a masterpiece in plastruct and microstrip, as opposed the etched brass original. Also missing are the battery, floor and cross bracing, and the instrument panel on the driver's left. I'll make good all these with the help of Kimbo's album - thanks for posting! There is a photo on the internet of the real thing,in Gloucester Waterways Museum, which is just up the road from me so I'll take a trip up there as well.

    I'd never heard of The Model Company until I got the crane, but strangely enough, a couple of weeks ago, up pops this Chaseside Kit.jpg

    which is now in my stash! I wonder what else is out there? I also discovered that the 'Classic Commercials' range of kits is being reintroduced by David Parkins, who has taken over the late Adrian Swain's ABS ranges so I now also have a kit for a 'Hymac' on which the Chaseside will eventually sit.

    Hi Rob, a couple of very lucky finds. If you need any further photos to help re assembling the Ransome just let me know.
    I’ve been after the Fordson tractor as well so I’m very envious, I look forward to seeing your build.

    As far as I can find out, the kits were produced in NZ and the range included :-

    Muir-Hill Dumper
    Ford delivery van.
    Bedford K Dump truck
    Ruston Bucyrus 10B excavator
    Ransomes and Rapier Crane
    Chaseside loader Fordson N tractor

    there’s a link here for picture.
