So we had success with version 3B and I think the slightly smaller shade suits it too.. The LED fits and the wire came yesterday.. 1/4 of a millimetre so I can easily get both up the inside of the light..

burnt my finger on the soldering iron (had my glasses on and it was not in line of sight when I went to pick it up and little finger touched the hot bit!! Ouch!!)

anyway, wired up, but as nothing on the other end I can’t show you lit.. that will come post painting anyway! :giggle:

Next to see if I or Yorkie has some fine chain to attach to the ends of the arms..

Have to say, I’m pleased with this!

Amazing stuff. Glad I'm not the only one who burns themselves on the soldering Iron. :avatar:

Yeah, nice blister on my left little finger but being next the sink I had it under cold water in a matter of seconds (after I made sure the iron wasn’t going to burn in to the kitchen work top!:giggle::giggle:

Aye there is a big difference between a 3rd degree burn and a severe scalding from the wife - the burn is always the preferred option

I’ve risked printing a small pipe to hide the wires.. doesn’t look much as it’s not secured yet as the whole thing needs to come apart for painting..

    but I think that’s a success! 8D076B38-A26B-4F11-A02F-E2120D8E3D0F.jpeg

And the final fixed bench has been scratch made today... its now painted and ready to fit in place so that completes the internal furniture and I can turn attention to making the removable roof.

The waiting shelter is now more or less complete, just a few small bits to add ... mainly internal stuff and the LEDs and complete painting the rear wall. So today I set the three Down platform buildings together on one of the segment baseboards to see what it all looked like and this was the result... enjoy.

I would add this is all very temporary at the moment with loose blocks of MDF offcut acting as a platform, neither platform or curve are set nor the track panels built up as yet.

    Very nice Paul

Just as well the platforms are temporary, otherwise you'd need to start long jump training :avatar:

Yorkies Christmas present has been dispatched today for Leek Passenger Station.

Hopefully they will be there before the big day and Paul will have some lamps to illuminate the waiting room shelter but also the first part for the up platform, the water tower.

now I have some other items to design for Paul….

So I best “bog” off :avatar:
Sorry for the “Toilet” humour, it’s just going down the “pan”…

I haven't stopped on this model honest... now they want me to start work on the other platform and I've still got a bridge to build yet.:giggle:

If finally found 5 minutes to check the LED and get it working now it’s painted..

sadly, with the close camera work, it shows up my poor painting skills.

it’s still only held in the crocodile clip as mine was just the prototype.

Just remember, the 1metre rule applies. It's much better than my painting skills. :giggle:

The canopy gas lamps designed and produced by Andy Sollis fit perfectly, these are currently wired up to a 6v battery and switch, later on as this model develops I'll build a plug in console which will control all lighting on the station from one place. For now though these 3'5mm warm whites give a nice gas light type glow typical of W.Suggs & Co lighting even if the camera doesn't pick it up so well. The waiting shelter is just set up again on a very temporary lash up whist the platform is being built.
