    Hi!

After a pause of 6 years in modelling, i decided to start over again.
    This time i have in mind a 1400mm x 600mm layout.
On30 gauge, logging or mining scene or maybe both :)

Nice, with plenty of potential, I've not tried On30 (and if tried too soon could end in divorce, the boss is still gettinig used to the change to O gauge :whatever:).

You keeping it to one level, or maybe adding another level, that narrow gauge logging and mining layouts are really good at.

Since the first design I have made another plan, that has 2 levels, i don't know how feasible it would be:

    Upper level:

    Lower level:

    Hi!

I have a Porter 0-4-0 and just bought 2 Kadee 0-4-0 locomotives from eBay
I will use scratchbuilt rolling stock (disconnects, logging trucks and some dump cars for the mine).
I'd like to buy a steam switcher too, but they are too expensive at the moment :)

I will post photos of the locos when they arrive.

    This is my Porter:

    Hi

I'm looking to have the little Porter as well, and maybe just some short flat wagons for now, I have the On30 2-6-0 with tender she's ok with peco first radius but will be pushing my luck with anything less than that, keep posting on your progress.

I also have these three, but they will have no chance turning on these radii.
I bought them when i was planning a basement layout, but since then we moved and I don't have that much space at the moment
(forgive the dust, they have not been used for 6 years):

I also scratchbuilt this Dunkirk loco in 2013:

And some other scratchbuilt rolling stock:

Wow! fantastic, just the sort of collection I'm hoping to have one day, my base board will be about 2000 x 900 still very much in the planning stage,
mostly logging , as I can relate to that, I'll be asking for tips on those great scratch built wagons if that's ok' and thanks for showing me the pictures.

All the turnouts have been built: 7 on the top level and 2 on the lower (mine level).

Hi Gavin, you can buy lengths of copper clad strip from Marcway models in Sheffield, if you check their website for the correct width you can then cut the strip to the length needed with side cut pliers, they will just need a wipe with a file to tidy up the cut ends.

Unfortunately in Europe it's really hard to buy cheap copper clad strips in bulk, all the good stores are overseas and the shipping these days is over the roof....
