    Hi Toto, thank you and all Platform 1 MRC for supporting the Made in Manchester Models brand and also your excellent past reviews, I would like to send you a newer version of my O gauge tanks & also a sample of my new O gauge fuel unloading pipework for you to evaluate.     Having seen their wares at various shows, I can definitely recommend them, I just wish I could find space and finances for some!

    Hi John,

    I've had a look at your fuel tanker unloading terminal pipework and it does look very good. As per our discussion, we often see fuel facilities and plenty of tankers delivering the fuel to the point of storage, but never the means of off loading from the tanker to the storage tank. As discussed, knightwing do a version in 4mm but there doesn't appear to have been any attempt in 7mm ...... until now. :avatar:

    A very convincing version as well.

    Hopefully these will serve you well and prove popular with the more industrial modeller. I will be delighted to review them for you as well.

    I've just gone back over the thread and I have picked up on one thing I missed earlier, the ladder cages are too long at the base, the operators should not need to bend over to start climbing the ladder, I spent 25 years working in the chemical industries and all ladders on tanks and towers used cages and all started about 7ft above ground level, the cages not the ladders..... Not a difficult alteration as they are made of plastic.

    Hi Pete, I absolutely agree with your comments about the cage height on some early storage tank models, this was noted at the time that workmen were having to play 'twister' before attempting to climb the ladders and this issue was corrected on following models, the cages are metal construction and the problem on older tanks can be easily be rectified by simply cutting away the lower excess cage and filing down any remaining metal. Looking at the newer versions I think the cage height is probably nearer to 8ft in scale but then again these young one's are getting taller..
