A 3D printing virgin

Hi Gents two more randomly stupid questions for you.

I followed Paul suggestion and printed a wagon at Y axis 45 degrees and there's a an excess build of resin along each edge on the lowest side. I have tried to photograph is but it really isn't showing up very well. Should have said cure time 2.8 sec's.



Any ideas to the cause? I am also trying a second print this time using a 2.9 sec cure and a 46 degree X axis, its printing now.

Daft q2. I have been happily creating the drawings for a brake van in Fusion 360, and for no apparent reason none of the sketches (new or old) will allow me to extrude. I have even tried closing and reopening 360 to see if that clears it. What's going on or is my brain frying.

Been there done that trick and I just can't find the missing connection which is why I assumed there could be something else.

In the end I have copied all the dimensions and started resketching it, along with the obligatory deliberate mistake, just to hone my correction skill further!

Not had time to watch the video yet Andy, but I have dumped auto-supports - frank ^&**%$. I have started concentrating on red areas, but then move on to get supports as close to sharp edges as possible - so we think alike! Other areas which seem well connected to the rest of the model just get random supports added last.

Re posting #65, I set the print running this morning before an excellent walk in the Yorkshire Dales.

It's just been degungded and then had an 8 mins wash. The odd feathering from post 65 is still there but obviously there's far less of it as the wagon was angled 45 degrees on the short side. I think the best things to do are a) watch the video and b) assuming it doesn't provide a magic answer go back to 45/45 angles, and 3 sec's cure time - they gave the best results.

All that for tomorrow as it's time to eat.

What's the distance between the railhead and the centre of the axle - in 7mm?

We went walking out in the Dales last Tuesday, I was utterly convinced it was Saturday.
Erindoors just kept shaking er ed and muttering darkly.
For 50+ years the only days I went out rock or ice climbing or walk were weekends (leaving holidays aside), I was walking therefore it must be Saturday - simple but wrong.
