Suggested wheelsets are Alan Gibson, and having previously bought from them, I can say that they deliver promptly. The 'special' gearbox is available from Chris Gibbon at "High Level Kits", who I've also found to be extremely helpful and delivers promptly. It's really just a standard "Roadrunner" gearbox, but Chris has designed a 'link unit' to add which gives 2 driven axles, one on each set of driving wheel pairs if, as I am intending, you wish to build this model as the later 4-4-4-4, rather than the 4-8-4 as originally built. I won't be starting this model just yet, as I'm still involved with finishing my DJH Unrebuilt "Merchant Navy" kit, but it will enable me to collect together the wheels, motor and gearbox not supplied with the kit. It looks an interesting kit and will save me a great deal of work scratchbuilding one. Here's the rest of the kit contents.

Is it this one? I believe it spent some of its rest life on the NSR region?

This is what the "Fell" kit model will (hopefully) look like Andy. Not sure what the one your pic is of, though there are a few similarities in body appearance......no connecting rods on yours though.:giggle:
It's not some sort of 'Prototype Clayton Class 17' is it???

    Keith.

    Hi Keith,

I look forward to seeing how you get on with it. Mike is a respected designer and kit builder so hopefully you won't encounter many issues. I have his 7mm ES1 kit to build at some point and I confess to being tempted by his other North Eastern Electrics too.
