G`day Folks, Well Gormo has been largely absent from this forum for a good while now. Household renovation and decoration has taken precedence over my modelling interests and inhibited my time for corresponding with you good folks in forum land. Well the work is done thank God, and once I clean my shed up, I`ll get back into my railway. Even though I have spent some long days working, railway things have still been on my mind, and one item that came to prominence in my thoughts was tarpaulins. You hardly ever see a tarpaulin on a model wagon, in spite of the fact that they were widely used by the railways of yesteryear. I have given it some thought and done some research and I`ve realized that there are two distinct and different methods of creating a tarpaulin for your model. Actually there are more methods, but I feel two dominate. Anyway, Gormo`s shed this week will deal with the simpler method out of the two, yet we will move into discussion and possibly some practical demonstration of the second method. As a teaser, this tarpaulin was created at home using the simple method. So I will leave you to consider what is to come, whilst I in turn, plan how I will present it to you in this weeks video. Cheers for now Gormo
Must have been reading my mind, have been thinking about giving making tarps a crack, give a bit of variety to the large number of open wagons I have. Been laid up with the flu for the last 2 weeks, previous week especially, a good thing about this though is that I've had time to go through (so to speak) most of Gormo's shed, I normally don't have time to watch videos. Gormo's shed is a fantastic resource and I'm really looking forwards to this one. I feel your pain on the home chores and renovation front, though I enjoy that too, time to do some re-jointing and sanding on lots of gyprock walls and ceilings, as well as outside painting and after the bushfire prep. Cheers Tony
