Thanks Andy, that ties up with my previous queries regarding the pulley system downstairs. In that last picture above, bottom right, there is a coal scuttle/bucket well loaded with very large pieces of coal, donations from passing drivers? Jim
Had no wifi at home for nearly a week due to an error and failure with the new service provider with my new fibre broadband. When it works I have cracking speeds.. but when it doesn’t, nothing works as obviously the computer can’t connect and only so much you can do on your phone! anyway, I have managed to complete the roof tiles and also done some tweaking to the lead roofs of the porch and the verandah. I then moved on to making what’s complete and read in to the STL files. Each colour is one part to print. There is still an internal door to complete and obviously the internal details. The toilet out the back.
Few less photos that we had of leek, but we did have fairly accurate drawings of the building which helped. Still some guess work as no internal known pictures. But been fun doing something non NSR for once.
Details have arrived from Peter now re the Stevenson block shelf support pillars. He sent me around 15 photos, I won’t bore you with all of them, but to give you an idea… here are a selection of 6 of them.. Peter thoughtfully photographed it against a graph sheet which helped working out sizes. now was to turn this in to a model. I’ve opted to try and use fusion. So imported a picture and scaled it to a pre draw 1/1 scale outline. this is how we are at the moment fitted in to the working model. More progress tomorrow as need to shuffle a number of other parts around and also make the actual block shelf “box” larger.
Little more progress, added the rest of the frame, some work to do around some other mounting points on the front. And externally
This a labour of love, isn't it I can really appreciate the amount of work going into this when I compare the complexity of your projects to the simple objects I design and print Jim
Too true Jim, what astonishes me is Andy's temerity in tacking a 4 wheeled wagon which he will be able to eat alive compare to his signal box internals! Mossy
Jim, thank you for those kind comments. All I’m doing is shaping blocks. Nothing you couldn’t do if you want to.
Few of the nearly finished frame In full. I have some writing to do on the description board soon. And then we are about done. And with the main timber underside and the tread board added.
There is also the issue of… not wanting to tread on others feet when they are doing such a good job! Even if it is something ancient from north of the boarder.. it’s still modelled and to a great standard.. your brake rigging was amazing. which is why I’ve said before we need to pool our efforts!
I’ve begun adding a few other details around the building. I’ve not had chance to picture them all. Some is down to space, and when you have seen one toilet… but, I have added a clock, and the flags that always sit nearby in a signal box. Close up of the blocks. and the flags. (Just to the right is the desk for the signalman to write at, it was originally placed in the bay window.) There is also a seat box been added and I suspect for the virtual model we will probably add a notice board and a calendar and stuff like that.
