Cheers Paul. There sure is a vast array of components on his site. Yet more to order and then the long wait for postman pat.

I have a poor photo of the C12 I found when building mine, don't know if it is of any use mate.

Found another. There doesn't seem to be a lot of detail on the tank top, maybe if you can zoom in a bit?
    Heres a closer cropped shot.

It would appear from photographic evidence that the larger steam dome for the Ivatt C12 was used in the BR period, so as most folks here know I only ever work from photographic proof and research.

Now quoting from the LNER Group webpage I found the following which may be of some help to you Kim:-

The first eleven C12s had high chimneys and tall domes, but the remaining 49 had smaller chimneys and lower domes to fit the Metropolitan loading gauge. In later years after their movement away from London, boilers would be swapped resulting in various chimney and dome combinations. Early locomotives had square shaped water tanks, and square bunkers. Later locomotives had rounded tank ends, and bunkers with flared tops. Over time, the first C12s had their bunkers altered to have the flared type. Initially both bunker types had two coal rails, although these were often increased to three or four. Eventually all of the rails were filled with steel backing plates.

Information and picture coutesy of the LNER Group website.

    cheers Yorkie

When I started to dress my NSR New M class tank loco I used Laurie Griffin casting number 14 /041 which is the tall Adams steam dome, this is what it looks like fitted on the boiler.

I cannot say this dome size is exactly what you need but basing the fact that both class types were constructed for very similar work within the same sort of Post Victorian / Edwardian time period this could be a good match, anyway this is the side profile view.

Thanks Pete, I’ve got that second picture on file.....could be an old boot from what I can see :avatar:
I think until I can get a definite picture of the tank I’m going to leave it as is.

Cheers Paul, more useful info. The second dome I’ve fitted is bigger than the first one I fitted, I’ll do a close up photo when the primer has dried to compare with yours.

First coat of etching primer. A couple of doofers will need some wet n dry to sort out before a second coat.

I’ve made up the oil atomisers and the reservoirs from scrap bits and bobs, added a builders plate and then given her another coat of primer. I’m leaving the cab roof off to finish the cab interior off with some painted detailing then I think I will try holding the roof in with small magnets....not to sure yet.

Decals and a new motor / gear box arrived last week so it’s time to get back to this build and finish it off.
Model has been painted gloss black and sitting on the bench now for a couple of weeks. Last night I added the 8 corner sections to the lining. These have dried over night so I will today hopefully get the red ‘ yellow corner decals fitted inside these silver grey ones. These again will be left to dry off over 24 hours and then the lining can be added, so this “little”job will probably take a few days to complete. The boiler lining is proving to be a little difficult as one line sites on top of the band the other falls off the side of the etch, so I might have to add then individually.

chassis has been completely stripped down again and sprayed a Matt black ready for final assembly with the new motor and gearbox.

Yet another loco that got boxed up and forgotten. Back in Nov/Dec 2020 I did indeed change the motor and gear box which improved the running of the model vastly. The decals were completed and the loco tested. So this week as I’m trying to clear the decks before commencing any new long projects I dug her out and installed a sound decoder and large stay-alive, added a crew, re assembled.
I’ll get a video up as soon as I can.
