Hello , I think it has to be a solder or heat problem. I keep trying but get the same results. A wire on my O gauge layout popped off and it was a clean break , it had been on the side of the track for at least 5 years. I have reconnected the wire and it still there .
It is a real enigma and very frustrating.
I`m attending Doncaster this Saturday , maybe someone there will give me more guidance.

    Tony..

    Hi Tony,
Pop along to Guild technical stand Nick Dunhill will be there he will give you some guidance. For the minimal cost I would suggest buy some new solder and flux, just in case there is an issue with one or the other.

Bought myself a Connoisseur GWR Hydra brass kit from the NEOG show along with some fresh liquid flux and solder , also some new tips for my Antex iron . Yesterday went to the Nottingham show and Mr Wright started the kit for me putting the floor together , I still need to get a bigger wattage iron - 50W + . Squires at NEOG didn`t have the iron I wanted.

    Tony.
