Hi Bob I'm sure I have the plan in "An Historical Survey of Selected LMS Stations" No date on the plan, but does have the routes named as Forres (HR), Craigellachie (GNSR), & Aviemore (HR). Will this be of any use ? Paul
You'll find digitised copies of the 25 inch to the mile Ordnance Survey maps on the National Library of Scotland's website. Use of these digitised maps for non-commercial purposes is permitted under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC-BY-NC-SA) licence. At 1872, it's a good deal earlier than the period you are interested in, but I doubt if too much changed in the interim (there is a 1901 map available as well, but it only covers the engine shed and not the whole station). What makes it interesting, the single track heading south was the Highland Railway Mainline to Perth, North bound, you may think is a double track, actually was operated as two parallel single tracks one being the Highland Railway mainline North to Inverness, the other Great North of Scotland line to Keith. In later years the Highland Railway re-routed the Perth - Inverness mainline to its current route, still with long lengths of single track sections. Paul
Which reminds me that I'll have to get back to two of my many unfinished projects: an HR 0-6-4T and a GNoSR 4-4-0. Both will be three rail 00, so that I can run them with all my vintage Dublo equipment..... Jim
