I picked up this kit from Ebay this week. Its quiet clearly ancient and very basic but it was very cheap. I was the only bidder, I guess in no small part due to the availability of ready to run versions. All looks to fit together and the castings are surprisingly fine.

    Rather Nice turned brass Boiler.

The footplate halves seem to interlock quite nicely. PA120052.JPG
    Cab Roof and belpair.

Cast sides. There is zero rivet detail. Shoudnt be a problem to apply Archer rivet transfers to the sides. ive been looking into these for a while. The cast on handrails will need to be replaced

The less said about the chassis the better. I think Mr Premier components will be getting an order

A selection of castings. most look to be of decent quality PA120056.JPG
    Some nice turned brass buffers

Answers on a postcard for what the steel strips are for.

Many will think I am mad for buying this when theres decent RTR version available... but wheres the fun in that?

That's a substantial boiler Paul. I assume those two square lumps of brass are 'screw-in' chassis spacers.........no wonder you're thinking of junking the chassis and going for a proper one! Nice castings, though not keen on white metal footplate or loco sides, having said that I recall I had one similar a while ago which turned out reasonably well, no idea what the strips of steel are for unless they're intended as weights, but with white metal footplate and loco sides there ought to be enough weight already. This could be 'interesting' with no instructions, every day's a school day!:giggle:
