Been a while since a last post, Just making some chimneys, as the buildings that came in a large box as part of my layout were already assembled, but needed some repairs and no chimneys on any of the five buildings, this is where I'm at. The Chimneys I have machined from Aluminium ( being the owner of a New Small Lathe ) Four on right picture, still the two chimneys to fit below Painted and fitted, http://www.clickRALPH
buildings before and afterthe buildings now with chimneys look more realistic Also with the layout was a garage (a façade only) a few pictures down. So I made sides and roof with 3mm ply Then added corrugated plasticard on roof The side walls (scalescenes TX46_00 ) I enlarged from 00 scale to '0' scale. well as near as I could % wise. Added spurs to represent guttering, and painted, Now ready to place on layout.http://www.clickRALPH
Spot on job Ralf, the garage looks similar to one preserved at the Black Country museum at Dudley in the West Midlands. Cheer's, Pete.
Chimney tops do look the good Ralph, nice job. Now if you produce one thousand of them and sell them in packets of four at £3.00 per pack... ...you're guaranteed to make a few $$.... Cheers, Gary.
