On the single tank version of the Heljan 26 you can fit 2 x Sugar cube speakers wired in Parallel, these are reasonably noisy, but no where as noisy as the DCKits Supersound speaker & fueltank system. Charlie
Hi Charlie, Thanks for that. I'll look it up. I'm not so fussy about all out noise, I'd rather have a reasonable volume based on a realistic version of the sound. It's always good to know what others are doing though. Feel free to post up a video of it running ........ And of course the sound as well. Cheers Toto
I have not got one here as I normally, if requested fit the for customers with the Legomanbiffo Sounds. The best and deepest sounds come from large airtight sound chambers. People make the mistake to fit the largest speaker, but what you need is a good speaker with the largest airtight sound enclosure behind it! This is far better than a large speaker with no enclosure, as we are looking for quality sounds not lot of high pitch noise. The sound attached has the standard full tanks with othe DCKits replacement tanks and supersound speaker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNqmddNkYCc Charlie
Sounds very good ..... thanks for posting. I bought my class 26 sound from the same person at the St Andrews show. it came with a ready converted fuel tank. Still on the to do list ....... like too many other projects. cheers Toto
Class 47 for anyone interested! https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=legomanbiffo+class+47&qpvt=legomanbiffo+class+47&view=detail&mid=3ADEB5CEE887E82781623ADEB5CEE887E8278162&rvsmid=D0AE6A9701443A623384D0AE6A9701443A623384&fsscr=-2145&FORM=VDFSRV Charlie PPS Comes with Two Tone Police Horn Feature !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahhhhhhhh ......... well, welcome aboard. You can personally witness me blowing up my class 26 when I attempt to fit it. what do you recommend for fitting out an O gauge class 25 for sound. its a Heljan. cheers toto
Bit more complicated, I used a ESU LokSound L decoder, from DCKits/Legomanbiffo, two speakers and there we have it!!! The L has Soldered terminals for wiring where the XL has screw terminals, but Heljan never make the wires long enough so these have to be extended to fit either decoder. The L decoder is a little taller than the XL but its cheaper, always check the space as the L might not always fit in certain loco's. The L contains a base plate for hardwiring in your loco, the decoder plugs into this and can be unplugged. Photo attached to explain. Charlie
Hi Charlie, When I come to ordering one, I'll post a picture of the loco with the shell removed to see if it would help in determining the correct way to go. Cheers for now Toto
charliepetty wrote: I agree 200% with this. Frequently with earlier projects, I would put two speakers in parallel (sealed, of course!), with the volume turned down; this gave much better sound quality, with good volume as well. I'm just awaiting your new 'Earth Mover' speakers to try in a Heljan class 33.
