Sheringbourne is no more! It has kept me busy here for 5 years but I'm getting more interested in US modelling so it's time to change. Most of the layout is now down and a friend from Rocket Railways is coming up to buy most of my stock. What is left I may advertise or donate to the local model railway club (if I can find one!).
I'm intend to expand my US layout and fit that in the shed when the weather gets worse and will post some photo's etc when that happens..

A change of scenery is as good as a rest, and will get the juices flowing again.

It's often said a layout is never finished but for some you get to the point of thinking what next?
A change of scale or railway is good to get the creative juices flowing again and I will look forward to seeing how you get on mate, you've got plenty of inspiration from the members here! Crack on mate!!:thumbs:

    Cheers, Pete.

Thanks, still taking Sheringbourne apart and saving what I can. I really made a good job of ballasting!!

An opportunity to go for 0 gauge maybe, Ron? Mind you, not sure if there's much American stuff available in 0 gauge. I'm stalled on my 0 gauge layout at the moment due to a severe lack of Mojo......it'll pass I'm sure, but I made a start on the control panel, got to the point of adding in the points position indicator boards, then realised I'd ordered (and fitted!) common cathode dual Red/Green LED's instead of common anode......Doh! Since then, I just can't be bothered to strip it and make a fresh start, plus I'm having left knee problems presently so a climb up the loft ladder to work on the panel doesn't appeal.:(

Sheringbourne is no more! Saved as much as I can (including a whole box of screws!!). No O gauge Keith, sticking to HO as I've already built most of Rush City yard!
Hope your knee improves mate and we get to meet up again. Going to the show at Coalville 18-19 Sept 2021, Belvoir Road, Coalville. maybe see you there?

Hi Ron, all being well I will be going with my brother in law. Mind you from what I've seen regarding infection rates climbing, it may be cancelled, if it go's ahead I don't imagine it will be busy.
The Elizabethan MRC's show in Mansfield is set go ahead in October 9th & 10th at the Summit center Kikby in Ashfield, NG17 7LL.

    Pete.

Cases seem to be on the rise again in my area, and somehow I doubt the situation will improve once the kids return to school next week. I have to admit I've kept a fairly low profile socially since the brown stuff hit the fan in March last year, and apart from Pete and myself meeting a couple of times, the only time I've met with more than one other was a few weeks ago in a 'playday' with Pete, Rosspop and a couple of others at a member of the 7mm Scale Society forums home in Derby for a fun session on his outdoor 0 gauge layout. DCC with Wi-Fi control via the iPhone was something different, and although an outdoor layout for me is not on the cards, it's nice to see how others have approached control in this situation. I doubt the Coalville exhibition will go ahead in current circumstances, even if it does I'll likely err on the side of caution and give it a miss, despite having to admit I really miss meetups at exhibitions. Hopefully things will improve towards the year end and into next year, and more exhibitions are held rather than cancelled or postponed. Look forward to meeting up again Ron.
