    G`day Folks,

I have just been advised by one of my YouTube subscribers that Steel Wool is highly combustible and can actually self ignite given the right conditions.

I have checked it out and he is correct.!!!

Therefore I have removed my video from YouTube and consequently it will not show here on our front page anymore.!!!!

We hope to have another video up as soon as is possible.!!!

Sorry about this but, unfortunately I was unaware of the risks of Steel Wool until it was brought to my attention and I don`t want to put out information that could be dangerous for people.

    My apologies

    G`day Veers,

The video was about creating bushes / undergrowth using steel wool as a base to carry flocking etc.

Due to the risk involved, which I was unaware of when I made the video, I felt it was best to take it down, once I was informed of the combustible properties of steel wool.

Ahh, yep. I get you know. Shame, I could have seen this working rather well, except for that flaw.

I have a product called rubberised horse hair, I bought it years ago from an exhibition, it came as a block about 8"x4"x1/2" (200x100x12mm), I cut off a small amount then pull it apart to get the shape I need, dunk it in watered down pva, then roll it in flock or similar, if you Google it there are loads of suppliers.

    Cheer's, Pete.

    Gormo,

    Good call on that one.
Although it does give one ideas of EXTREME model railroading, or a myth busters style program :scratchchin:.

Keep pushing the boundaries (I don't mean in terms of safety) with your ideas, they are very simple to obtain and build.

    Cheers
