Folks, Well I hope you`ve all been practicing your wood cutting and checking your set squares after watching Episode 5...... This week we are back in the train room and giving you an insight into the Black Art of finishing platform tops with pastels. A method developed through trial and error by myself and now I`m passing it on to whoever wants to try it. You don`t have to worry, you will not be sworn to secrecy and you will not be excommunicated from the model railway fraternity if you pass on the information.......so go for it lads, if the mood takes you.!!!! One thing I would stress is that it really pays to practice this method on scrap first. It`s worth wasting a couple of sheets of sandpaper or wet&dry, just to accustom yourself the method / technique. Also if you plan on doing a large project, make sure you have a good supply of the colour pastels you intend to use. Nothing worse than running out part the way through and then trying to colour match to finish off. So I`ll leave you with it.........enjoy the video. Nice video Gormo (Only trouble is I've got 'Down in Gormo's Shed' stuck in my head, and I keep finding myself humming it!) Ed
Thanks Ed and sorry `bout my jingle getting stuck in your head. I told my wife and she said that my jingle was awful!!!.....I explained to her that it was supposed to be awful.!!! Anyway mate.....getting it stuck in your head must be awful too. Try singing the Flinstones theme song....that`ll get it out of your head.....or whistle the Star Trek theme......or maybe twinkle, twinkle little star????? Maybe it`s time to go back to the professionals for a theme??????? Shouldn`t upset the lads now Gormo!!! http://www.click Gormo
Another great tutorial Gormo. The platforms look great and I can testify that they look better in the flesh than on youtube ! Cheers, Gary.
Actually Gormo, the platforms look just as good on youtube as they do in real life ! Cheers, Gary. ps. That'll be another 10 bucks for the double endorsement...
