Nice work David - well worth the effort, and congrats on pick of the week
Seasons greetings from Fablewood! Santa very kindly left us some new rolling stock, in the form of a trio of Peco 'skips'. They go very well with my CW Hunslet diesel, for good measure!
Loads to be added soon... Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas David.
A very nice addition to Fablewood. Looks like you've had a very good Christmas. Enjoy the rest of the festive period.
And you Toto; have a wee dram on me!
I will do David. You don't need to tell me twice.
After some time away, its time to give this thread a dusting down! And what better way to do so, than with a review of Fablewood's motive power (as of May 2019)?
Some notes regarding the last three engines...
Ozzie is a GEM 'Alco' kit, based on the Ffestiniog's Mountaineer in 1970's condition. Running on an Arnold 0-6-0 chassis (with the front pony truck wheels being sourced from a Dudas kit), she is painted in plain black, befitting of an American locomotive. Currently being run in, she is expected to be pressed into passenger service shortly.
Sox is a freelance Garratt, originally made by another modeller in the 1970's. Acquired from the 009 Society a few months ago, Sox is powered by an old Minitrix 0-6-0 chassis from the rear. Originally painted blue, he is currently undergoing a makeover. Having already given him a new colour, he is shortly to undergo some modifications; namely new buffers, headlamps and a new chimney.
Sybil is a Five79 freelance 'Quarry Hunslet', running on an Arnold 0-4-0 chassis. Originally built by a friend of mine in the 009 Society (now sadly departed), she has been drafted in as a fleet member, in honour and remembrance of my friend. For the sake of artistic licence, let's say she's a privately owned engine running by agreement between the owner and the railway management!
Comments welcomed as always.
A great fleet David. Sybil strikes a note with me. Fantastic little engine.
Many thanks for posting
Thanks Toto. No doubt the fleet will be expanding with time!
