Very nice video. Is the class 47 a kit build or a RTR ?

Good weather today so managed to start paintwork.

black paint next, but I’ll leave this a couple of days to dry properly. I’ve used Phoenix Precision wagon Bauxite enamel.

    Cheers Andy.
Yes I’m really pleased with this build and I’m looking forward to finishing the paintwork off.

Whilst I try and find some transfers for the Flyash I thought I’d add some detailing and start to weather it similar to one shown on Paul Bartlett’s web page.

so far I’ve only used acrylic wash’s but I think I’ll give the powders ago next during daylight hours.

Great result so far Kimbo. The powders will just enhance it more. Looking forward to seeing the next stage.

Much as I love building them, the weathering and finishing is the stage that I really enjoy.

That’s the part I struggle with most. Still learning! Maybe one day!

I agree Rob, but this is a skill your lacking in ! As I have the painting skills to hide all my soldering errors. :avatar:

Ha, ha, I to make soldering errors, but these days I have the confidence to take it off clean it up, and do it again.

Of the four veranda ends on the LSWR brake vans one overlay came off once as it had moved when I applied the iron and a second one came off twice because I just couldn't get it to sit where it should go. I suspect the reason was that I had left a blob of solder standing proud when I tinned the overlay and it pushed it out of position as it melted

Some weathering powder added....more, less what do you recon?

Not been able to source a set of decals for the Presflo, I’ve emailed First Class kits to try and buy a set but they are not responding to my calls, so digging into my decal box I’ve come up with a few, other than a running number, might have to cut and make up one from individual numbers.....

Amazing the difference a little weathering makes. Just starts to raise the look a bit.

    Nice one Kimbo.
