Just watched this, video from 2017, cameras and audio on the footplate and all over with commentary by the crew, well worth a look. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b087k5rf/flying-scotsman-from-the-footplate Jim
When I first read the thread title Jim, my brain translated it into "Flying Scotsman Derailed" before the bit about footplate ride on the SVR sunk in...
Oh dear Rob, why is it we quickly hook into these twists of the brain, never mind it gets worse, sorry, easier as you get older Over a certain age a senior moment becomes the norm and is replaced by senile moments Jim
I have a 4mm Hornby Flying Scotsman, and a crownline tender and loco detailing kit to modify to a non-corridor tender version with different body parts, still to find a suitable subject. Part of what I find so attractive of the Horby Rail Road range, a model I can afford to cut up. Will need to take plenty of stills / screen grabs - purely for research of course Paul
Hi Paul, luckily I have an old British Trix FS which I bought second-hand in the 70's, the previous owner had fitted it with the German style smoke deflectors and repainted it quite well, I converted it to DCC a year or more ago, at least it not in my TODO list which is the length of a toilet roll Jim
