    Thanks Gormo.

Good idea to bring these out and onto this forum. I do remember seeing them on the other forum, and i is a really good series showing the sequence and detail involved in the build.

What are those brackets. They look to be off the shelf product. Do you add a vertical support as well.

    Regards
    Steve

Great to have this back in circulation on Platform1. It will give our members an appreciation of how your current thread started right from the beginning. GCJ has come home. :avatar:

    G`day Steve,
The brackets are an industrial product that came from my Son. They were excess to requirements on a job and were to be thrown away, however my Son thought I would be able to use them. They are rated at 70kgs each without need for any other brackets and I have them fixed to the studs in the walls with very long coach bolts. The obvious attraction being that there are no support legs to worry about.
I don`t know the brand or description, but if you need to know, I can find out for you.

Fabulous that this is all in the one thread so you can all appreciate the sheer effort in the development. When I first viewed Gormo's layout in the flesh, I was enthralled by the engineering thought that had gone into its development. Then Garry commented also on the achievement. Keep it up Gormo as you continue to be one of the leaders in our great hobby. So therefore I must continue to use your ideas in my Dargan layout. Cannot now construct a building without remembering how to put in a proper Gormo inspired cast iron down pipe!

    Cheers

    and happy modelling

All the Gormo's shed series have been built into GCJ so in my mind its practicing what you preach. It's all there in the flesh if you care to take the time to look for it.

I think that followers of your series will understand so much more how the shed has evolved now that the whole story is in the one place. As I said before ..... GCJ has come home.

    Well done Sir.

    Thanks Toto,
Yes I guess you are right.
The ideas that come along finish up on the railway and eventually on Gormo`s Shed.
It`s funny when you go out there to the railway, you see it as a whole thing and I just take it for granted now that I`ve got this far. From time to time it`s good to remind ones self what`s gone into it.
This railway is an exercise in economy, which requires a certain amount of ingenuity, lateral thinking and recycling to get there.
That`s the fun part for me

Well .... you've certainly embodied the ethos with no compromise on the finished product. Its popularity speaks volumes.
