My 55 arrived today from Tower Models. Looks the part and weighs a ton. This will just travel light engine between fiddle yards. Not enough of a run to do anything else with it at the moment. I'll post some pictures up later. Cheers Toto
Here we are. Unfortunately not on a nice scenic layout but some day. out the box, side on, and head on. I'll do a post when the decoder is being installed. I have two Zen Buddah decoders but will wait until my Class 37 arrives and chip them at the same time. cheers toto
I'm saying they are heavy, but Toto has just signed up for Gym sessiond to build up his upper body strength
Its a beast Ron. weighs in at over 4kg. lovely model. a bit impracticle for me to be honest but as I said, it can run light engine through the layout. cheers toto
Oooooooooooo that's a nice bit of muscle you have got there Toto Lucky you over engineered the the layout boards when you built them
Always an impressive looking loco the Deltic. You can see that they got the inspiration from the American E & F units
Hi guys, I'll go into the attic and pull out an OO scale Deltic and post up a few pictures of them together. It'll be tomorrow now, just back from the Glasgow show. Knackered. Cheers for now. Toto
That is a beast of a loco indeed. You do realise the loco crew will walk your layout rather than fire her up and run it on track that is only twice the length of the loco...?? Cheers, Gary.
I've got a lazy loco crew Gary. it's worth it just for the posability factor Gary. Nearly had sound for it today but backed off after some honest advice from the chaps at legomanbiffo. I came away with sound for the O gauge 37 which I have on order. It has a nice gurgle about it. The Deltic will get a Zen Buddah fitted which I have in stock. Apparently all the internal wiring is red and black. Could be interesting. Cheers Toto
Well, I was full of intentions to chip the 55 tonight.l Took it apart, easy, four screws done that. Then, as i was expecting, all cables in red and black to the analogue chip. this is poor from Heljan but ....... it aint so bad as the terminals are marked up. motor 1, motor 2, track 1, track 2 and auxiliaries etc. the trouble started when I looked at the terminals on the Buddah. two rows of them. One smaller set of terminals for auxilliaries ( lights etc ) and another bigger set of terminals for track, motor, and commons. so the instructions tell you. but which set of colours are for what. Its alright saying track, motors and commons go on this strip ......... but which connections on the strip. I have left it for now and put the oco back together again for the time being but it is coming out again once I have read the destructions again and referenced some other sources. this is an evening pursuit at the moment because daytime is layout time as the layout stretches into the garden. If anybody else has done one of these ......... let me know the secret. it'll save a lot of heartache. cheers toto
I have marked up the Buddha diagram for you and included there colour chart let me know if you need any other assistance Attached files
Hi Chris, I've not had it open again yet. It could happen tonight after I've done the necessary with testing out baseboard three. This needs to be done during the day as it'll be outside. Your diagram is useful. I will have it by my side when I open it up again tonight. Many thanks. Toto
