Keep your peepers open here for news of the Highlander Models Wagons range.

Moves are afoot to identify a base range of wagon designs to build from the bottom up and release under the Highlander Models brand. I am hoping to try and bring some of these in in tandem with the current revisions of the Locomotive range.

Drawings and other prototypical design materials are actively being looked at in order to identify some suitable wagon types that would be pulse as a ,means to start of a basic range.

    More news as it progresses.

    Thank You Gloria.

Unfortunately I need to concentrate on one gauge at the moment as its hard enough just trying to get things moving with that. I'd love to be able to appeal to more but for now ........ its a longggggg road. :avatar: never say never though ..... you just never know.

    Well,

Like everything else at Highlander Models things are progressing. The latest on the wagon offerings is that we think we have identified a grouping of potential designs which may be suitable for further development.
They will all be based on the same wheelbase size and there is a reasonable variation in body styles. This is something that we are currently discussing and have initial design information for with which to take things forward.
I don't want to set a rabbit running quite yet as we have some initial checks to do to confirm that the chassis that will be used will meet the criteria of a " one fits all " with the various body styles in order to keep the development costs reasonable and viable. There is more to this racket than meets the eye.:avatar:

However, once the chassis is over the line, I may ne in a better position to release more information as to which specific types of wagons will follow and also be able to give details as to the make up of the various parts with reference to the use of white ,metal, lost wax and brass etc etc.

We are fighting on numerous fronts at the moment but ne assured ...... things are progressing. I hope to be in a position to get the website up soonish.

    Bear with us.

To be decided Gary. We have been discussing an approximate era which will range from post war up to the seventies roughly so there is a reasonable scope.

    Tha is Gormo.

We will be trying to cover some wagons that are not already flooding the market along with a staple diet of staple everyday sellers. York Paul has done a fair bit of research so far and has come up with a few which we will be looking into further. I will spill the beans on which ones after we have confirmed the final line up.
We are currently going through some design ideas for the " universal " chassis design. We are trying to standardise certain elements where possible from noth a kit design and prototypical perspective as possible so it will take a bit time. Once the chassis is there, the various body designs should follow relatively quickly.

I know there appears to be no fruits to our labours so far but I can assure everyone that we have moved mountains it's just some of the elements take longer to get into place than others. We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel on a few of the revised kits and I am confident that these will be released in 2019........ let's not forget the website ... payment vehicles ..... packaging ........ rewritten instructions ...... the list goes on. :avatar:

But ..... I think the kits and accessory ranges will be well received in the market. So there is no rush to get them out until I am happy that they are fit for purpose and to the right standard with which to officially launch Highlander Models.
