    G`day Folks,
I had a request from one of my YouTube subscribers for a tutorial about how I make corrugated roofing sheets for my models.
I worked out this system a few years ago and did a tutorial at the time Episode 20 Corrugated Roofing , however since that first video tutorial , I have refined the process and now follow the procedures as outlined in the video below.
I hope it may be of some use to forum members.

I believe there is a roller system that will do A5 sheets for folk doing Decopage (or however it’s spelt.. sorry- the stuff from Hobbycraft for making your own birthday cards etc).although having searched for it, I confess I can’t find one! :( As I really wanted to help and provide a link…:scratchchin:

But that is a really neat and ingenious way to do it yourself! Are you only limited by the size of the template?

    G`day Andy,
You are limited by the size of the Aluminium profile as to what size corrugations you will get. There are other profiles that would probably be better suited to O Gauge.
The thing is with this system, a small corrugated sheet takes very little time to prepare, and as most model buildings are not very large, it`s take no time at all to run off a batch of sheets.
A few people who replied on YouTube, I think are seeking a system that will create the sheets in bulk......one pass of the tool results in a life time supply of corrugated sheets.
As you know, building models takes time and patience, and I see a small amount of time preparing materials properly as a small and rewarding part of that process.
So it is what it is......

    Absolutely..

And it’s an ingenious solution you have come up with.

I watched your video last night, very interesting it was to. I have a very old Hornby shed that I have had for years that I want to change into some sort of 'industrial' building. You have given me some insperation.

Has 'Mr Blue Tongue' made a reappearance by the way?

    G`day David,
Glad to been of assistance. I hope the shed turns out well for you.
I should add that I`ve only recently found out that Aluminium foil trays come in a much larger but very shallow size.....possibly 2 A4 sheets could be extracted from the flat base ?......cost one dollar Australian.....approx. 50p for you.
Haven`t seen old Bluey for a long time now.....hope he survived the rain......:scratchchin:

I have some 'Turkey' sized trays in the cellar that we have had since before Christmas 2021, I will let you know how I get on.

Just a thought Gormo, the aluminium extrusion you are using, could a second piece turned over and placed on top of the first and clamped with a strip of foil between give the same effect?

    Cheers, Pete.

    G`day Pete,
Most likely is the short answer.
I was asked a similar question on YouTube as to why I don`t just use the Aluminium profile to press the corrugations into the foil that`s sitting on the jig.
I tried it and it results in a less defined, flatter corrugated sheet.
The scribe seems to give a more rounded corrugation, which is what we want in the end.
The video possibly makes it look more tedious than it is when doing the scribe method, however it really takes very little time and gives a good result.
