Last night (or early morning today) the Down Night Sleeper failed at Newton Abbot (Class 57) blocking one of the platforms at Newton Abbot until it could be moved. Mid morning a pair of HST power cars (back to back) were sent from Laira to recover the stricken train. It looked really unusual as it passed the South Devon Railway at Totnes on its way back to Laira. Just goes to show there is a prototype for everything. By th Way I Got some pics from my visit to the SDR today will post them once they are sorted.
