David just a stupid thought, you say space is a bit Ltd for O gauge but. . . you could start by building a small shunting plank in that room. .. . and then knock a small hole through the wall and run an extension line out into the garden area to allow your locos to stretch their legs? You could add to it over time and maybe if you get hooked , even branch out into live steam
    Cheers

I would do the live steam in the field tomorrow, but as you know Matt its on quite an incline.

But if we all wanted to get together on some weekends and build a live steam 5 inch layout, I have the land, the bedrooms, and the digger.

Yeah it is Matt, I could extend up to the kitchen door and SWIMBO could load coffee onto a wagon, good thinking.

I have got to build a runway for her new toy in the morning. :)

Did you take the free Anyrail download or did you purchase the whole hog ?? For your plank, the free download should/would be adequate.

    Cheers, Gary.

It is a bit bland but I am considering a blank canvas, I am going to name it TOTO as its so damned ugly, it will proudly run on Tan Y Gaer Halt, whatever Tan Y Gaer Halt becomes...

No, not at all. I have the same loco...

I bought a complete O gauge LIma set last year. The whole set, (below) was purchased for $123.00, which at the time the exchange rate would be around £58.00 ! Bargain ! ;)

I had to pay a little more, not a lot, and felt it was in my price range as I am really only just dipping the toes into the whole idea, as it may not be my cup of tea in the end, so don't want to break the bank.

Thing with the Lima 4F is it is a blank canvas, its been in production for so long a lot of people have developed it into a really detailed model, it just depends on your skills and how far you want to take it, the only thing to remember is it is slightly underscale to a similar kit built model, the same gos for the Lima O scale coaches, the best thing about Lima O gauge models is you get more for less money, I don,t know if the parts are still out there but at one time you could get the bits to make them up to scale size, and the Gauge O Guild Gazette had articles in just about every other issue on how to convert them to scale.

A good buy there Tany and Gary.

    Pete.
